Mt. Oliver man is 3rd arrest in connection with Carrick double-shooting

All three men accused of being involved in a Nov. 14 double shooting in Carrick after a robbery are in custody.

Allegheny County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Steven Hill, 25, of Mt. Oliver on Thursday. Hill faces two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy for his suspected role in the incident, which occurred in the 2000 block of Dellrose Street in Carrick, according to criminal complaints filed in the case.

Hill, Cody Smith, 23, of Carrick and Desmond Michael Jones, 20, are accused of robbing two teens, according to the complaints.

Smith is accused of shooting the teens, according to the complaints. One was shot in the neck and the other in the shoulder. Smith was arrested Nov. 19 by the Allegheny County Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, robbery and other charges.

Jones was taken into custody Nov. 16. Jones is charged with three counts of robbery and was released on non-monetary bail.

Hill and Smith are in Allegheny County Jail, Hill on $50,000 bail. Bail is denied for Smith, according to court records.
