Nadine Road in Penn Hills will continue to be closed until the end of December, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced Friday.
The section of the road between Allegheny River Boulevard and Lincoln Road has been closed since July 12 following storms that overturned the wall and caused a portion of the road to collapse.
Work began in August, when PennDOT expected the road to open back up to traffic this month.
Northeast Paving, a division of Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC, was contracted for the new retaining wall’s design and construction.
“The project has had unanticipated design delay and additional scope of work and also resulted in utility locations that needed to be addressed for the emergency construction of the new retaining wall adjacent to the road,” a public works news release said Friday.
Traffic has been detoured using Allegheny River Boulevard, Sandy Creek, Verona and Lincoln roads.
