An inmate in the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh died Saturday.

Warden Orlando Harper issued a statement that “the death does not appear to be suspicious, nor related to covid-19.”

According to Harper, medics were called about 12:15 p.m. to tend to an unresponsive inmate. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

He was identified as Richard D. Lenhart, 49, of Pittsburgh. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office said Lenhart was found in a cell.

Information from the medical examiner did not include a cause of Lenhart’s death.

Allegheny County Police were investigating.

According to the jail website, a second inmate has tested positive for covid-19.

Jail officials report that 10 inmates have been tested, with one result pending.

Among the staff, 15 have been tested. One test was positive and five other test results are pending.
