1 dead, 1 injured in Mt. Washington shooting

One man is dead and another person is injured after a shooting early Thursday morning in Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington neighborhood, according to the city Department of Public Safety.

The department said the city’s ShotSpotter system detected a shooting on Bailey Street around 12:10 a.m.

Responding officers said they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital, according to police.

Officials have not made the victim’s identity public.

The department said a second victim walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm, and told personnel there that they also were shot on Bailey Street.

Police are investigating. Further details were not immediately available.
