Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto on Tuesday announced the appointment of Kevin Pawlos as director of the city’s Department of Management and Budget.

Pawlos, 31, of Westwood has served as the assistant department director since 2018. The new position pays $108,135 in 2019 and his appointment is subject to City Council approval. He replaces Jennifer Presutti, who resigned last year to become Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority budget director.

Pawlos since 2012 has also served as a budget analyst, senior budget analyst and operating budget manager.

“Kevin has been a diligent public servant for the last seven years, and has shown a commitment to providing strong budgetary oversight into 2020 and beyond,” Peduto said in a statement.
