A Penn Hills man was sentenced to two to seven years in state prison Monday after his seventh drunken driving conviction since 2011.

Pittsburgh police charged John C. Davis with his latest DUI on April 7, 2019, after he crashed into a telephone pole and a parked SUV in the city’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

Davis suffered a small cut to his left eye in the crash, according to a criminal complaint. He couldn’t open his glove compartment to provide his registration and insurance information.

Police found empty cans of Old English 800 beer in the back of the car and three full cans in the center console, according to the complaint. While being transported to West Penn Hospital, Davis told police he’d drank “at least a six pack” before the crash, police said.

Davis also was arrested March 22, 2019, in Wilmerding. He told police “This is not my day,” according to a complaint in that case.

His previous DUIs also included ones Feb. 3, 2019, in Dravosburg; July 21, 2018, in North Braddock and three others: Oct. 9, 2012, April 22, 2012, July 4, 2011, according to court records.

Davis was sentenced Monday by Allegheny County Judge Thomas Flaherty, who also ordered Davis to serve three years probation when he is released from prison, according to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office.
