A University of Pittsburgh fraternity has been suspended as officials investigate a hazing incident that was reported last week, officials said.

Phi Kappa Theta “may have been involved in hazing,” Pitt spokesman Kevin Zwick said in a statement.

Pitt did not detail what specifically was reported.

The chapter’s registration has been suspended until an investigation concludes.

Phi Kappa Theta officers could not be immediately reached for comment.

Pitt makes its policies against hazing “very clear” to students, Zwick said.

He said the university investigates all allegations of hazing or any other violations of the student conduct code.
