Pittsburgh police on Saturday arrested a man wanted in connection with an alleged assault of a woman that began in November.

Deric James Ivy, 27, no known address, turned himself into police on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Ivy was wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with the Nov. 22 incident. He faces several charges, including burglary, aggravated assault, witness intimidation, theft, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, simple assault, reckless endangerment and a firearms violation.

According to police, the alleged assault involved an intimate female partner of Ivy’s.

Police said it began on Nov. 22 in the 2600 block of Shadeland Avenue, which is in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood. Two days later, at about 11:30 p.m., the woman called police to report a verbal threat in progress, police said.

Ivy was also wanted in connection with another alleged assault, which police say involved an unborn child, in Versailles Borough. That incident allegedly occurred on Oct. 8. He is charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and harassment in that case.

Ivy remained at the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon after failing to post a combined $20,000 bond.
