A child was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the city’s Carrick neighborhood.

Authorities said the sedan struck the 3-year-old girl at the intersection of Edgar Street and Biscayne Avenue around 12:35 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle was traveling north on Biscayne Avenue and fled the scene. The girl was transported via ambulance.

Authorities said police are looking for a light green or gray four-door sedan with possible front end damage. It was last seen headed toward Brownsville Road.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Pittsburgh police at 412-323-7800.
