Police are investigating a series of suspected cases of shots being fired in Pittsburgh’s East End early Friday, officials said.
Police received two ShotSpotter alerts about 12:30 a.m. — first, of gunfire near the 300 block of East Hills Drive; and then, moments later, gunfire in the 700 block of Brushton Avenue, Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said in a news release.
On East Hills Drive, police found a parked vehicle that had been struck by a bullet, Togneri said.
Officers did not find any victims near either ShotSpotter location, Togneri said.
Shortly after 2 a.m., a 51-year-old man walked into a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body, Togneri said in the same release.
Police did not provide further details nor confirm whether the man’s injury was connected to the ShotSpotter notifications.
Detectives continue to investigate.
