A 19-year-old man was taken to a hospital after he was shot multiple times Sunday afternoon in Duquesne, Allegheny County Police said.

The shooting was reported just after 12:30 p.m. in the area of 600 Grant Avenue.

The man was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon, but he is expected to survive, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle, police said.

County homicide detectives said the shooting occurred after the victim approached two men on Grant Avenue. During a conversation, police said, one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot the victim multiple times.

The motive for the shooting was unclear Sunday, police said.
