Police announced on Wednesday a $12,000 reward for tips that lead to the prosecution of individuals wanted in connection to a hit-and-run incident that killed a Pittsburgh man earlier this week.

Joseph Morris, 51, was found dead by police along Universal Road in Penn Hills after Allegheny County 911 received multiple calls about the crash around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Morris was walking home after finishing work as a cleaner at a Duquesne Light facility when he was struck by a car in front of 419 Hershey Road, Allegheny County Police Inspector Andrew Schurman said.

The vehicle then dragged Morris to 1841 Universal Road.

The two locations are about a half-mile apart.

Video surveillance shows an unclear image of the vehicle that struck Morris, but its exact make and model remain unknown, Schurman said.

Officials did not identify any possible suspects.

County Police’s reconstruction and homicide detectives continue to investigate.

Officials asked anyone with information about the incident to call the police tipline at 1-833-255-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
