Police: Pittsburgh woman accused of arson in Greenfield apartment fire case
A Pittsburgh woman is accused of deliberately setting fire to a Greenfield home last month, officials said Thursday.
Detectives arrested Victoria Parker, 28, and booked her into Allegheny County Jail on arson charges in connection to the Dec. 16 fire on Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
The day of the fire, police reported that a 28-year-old woman had jumped from the window of a second-floor apartment to escape the flames.
She landed on a dump truck, suffered cuts and was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
Police did not say Thursday whether Parker was that woman.
The building had a business on the ground floor with two apartments above. Firefighters contained the fire to the second floor. It started shortly after 7 a.m.
No one else was hurt.
The Fire Investigation Unit, which includes Pittsburgh police and fire officials, made this week’s arrest of Parker, Cruz said. Parker faces two counts of arson.
Police did not release further details about the suspected arson case.
