Pittsburgh police are searching for a man who they said tried to rob a South Side bank Tuesday before changing his mind and fleeing in a wheelchair.
A bank teller said the man in a wheelchair entered the First National Bank at about 3:30 p.m and handed over a note demanding cash, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz.
The suspect, described to be in his 60s, “suddenly abandoned his attempt” and exited the bank in the 1100 block of East Carson Street, Cruz said.
No pictures or video were immediately available. The FBI has joined the investigation.
