A flash flood warning issued Saturday night in parts of Allegheny, Westmoreland and Washington counties has been extended to 3:15 a.m., the National Weather Service said.

Heavy downpours of rain across the region from Pittsburgh south are expected to overflow and cause potential hazards near small creeks, urban areas, highways stressed and low-lying areas with drainage issues.

Among places expected to experience flooding: Pittsburgh, Monroeville, Delmont, Greensburg, Monessen, Ligonier, Connellsville and Washington.

Officials urged anyone driving during the storm to slow down and turn around should they encounter a flooded roadway.

Report flooding or other weather-related hazards by calling the National Weather Service at 412-262-1988 or via Twitter @nwspittsburgh.
