The roof of the Christian Fellowship Center Church on McClure Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood collapsed Monday.

Authorities responded Monday afternoon to the collapse of the roof at a church on Pittsburgh’s North Side.

An Allegheny County 911 shift commander couldn’t provide details but said the city’s police, firefighters and emergency medical services were dispatched at 12:42 p.m. to Christian Fellowship Center Church on McClure Avenue in the city’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

Pastor Frank Tillman Jr. told Tribune-Review news partner WPXI that his congregation planned to hold service in the building Sunday for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic.

The congregation has been in the church for about 20 years, and the building is more than 100 years old, Tillman told WPXI.

Nobody was hurt in the collapse. The building will be demolished and Christian Fellowship Center Church will need to find a new building, according to Tillman.

Further information on the cause of the collapse wasn’t immediately available.
