ScareHouse announced Thursday that its flagship haunted house won’t be opening this year on Locust Street in Etna.
ScareHouse spent 12 Halloweens inside a 104-year-old building that formerly was a bank and Elks lodge and is stopping because it’s found a new, as-yet-undisclosed location and has big plans for the future, according to a Facebook post.
Those plans are so big they will take a full year to execute, the Facebook post said. People from ScareHouse could not be reached Thursday for more information.
ScareHouse’s attraction known as The Basement is also getting a new home and will be open for 2019.
“We’re also excited to announce a new, permanent home for The Basement! Our intense and immersive haunted attraction returns this fall as an entirely new experience within one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic neighborhoods!” according to the Facebook post.
Those details are also forthcoming.
