The first eaglet of the season hatched Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Pittsburgh Hays bald eagle nest.

Two days after Pittsburgh received its first eaglet of the season, another one hatched, according to the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania.

The eaglet, which is the 11th for the Hays bald eagle couple, hatched around 6:40 a.m. Monday, officials confirmed.

The first eaglet hatched at 7:40 a.m. Saturday.

The Hays bald eagle couple is in its eighth year of nesting on the same steep, remote hillside above the Monongahela River near the Glenwood Bridge.

The action at the nest can be viewed live via webcam sponsored by the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania and CSE Corp. of Murrysville. The Hays webcam is a collaborative project between CSE and Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, Arborel Tree Service, Davey Company and JASE Construction services.

This live video feed has a special permit from the Pennsylvania Game Commission for educational purposes.
