Shooting death in Stowe Township investigated as homicide

Police are treating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man whose body was found Saturday along a trail in Stowe Township as a homicide.

According to a news release from Allegheny County Police, paramedics and Stowe police were dispatched to the 200 block of McCoy Road a little before 1 p.m. after two teenagers found the body of the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit who joined the investigation believe the man was shot about 3 a.m. He was not identified in the news release.

Police said they have no suspects or possible motives in the case.
