It might not be that much-missed concert in the park, but Allegheny County Department of Parks kicks off its Summer Concert Series with The Clarks at 7 p.m. Sunday on Pittsburgh’s CW television station.

“Although the pandemic is limiting our ability to gather in large groups, Allegheny County is honoring the spirit of our summer concerts by televising local artists,” said County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

BNY Mellon sponsors the series that runs every Sunday at 7 p.m. on Pittsburgh’s CW until Sept. 6.

Other concerts include:

July 12: Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, classical

July 19: A Night of Jazz with Mark Strickland Trio, Dwayne Dolphin Trio, and Lynn Speakman Quintet

July 26: Frank Vieira with The Hobbs Sisters, country

Aug. 2: Funky Fly Project, funk

Aug. 9: Punchline, pop punk

Aug. 16: Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre

Aug. 23: Brooke Annibale, folk pop

Aug. 30: Sierra Sellers featuring Benji, R&B soul

Sept. 6: Uprooted, world beat

Full concerts will also be posted on the Allegheny County Parks Facebook page and the County YouTube channel at 8 p.m. every Sunday from July 5 to Sept. 6.

Adding to the entertainment is Parks Unplugged: An online music and interview series produced by Allegheny County Parks. It began June 5 with Chris Jamison, who finished in third place on Season 7 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Josh Verbanets, Joy Ike and Michael Glabicki have also been featured.

The 14-episode online series features acoustic performances by local artists in unique county park settings. New episodes will drop on the County Parks Facebook page and County YouTube channel every Friday at 7 p.m. through Sept. 4.
