Things to remember when heading to the Pirates’ home opener Monday

The Pittsburgh Pirates are reminding fans to be vigilant of road work that may cause delays getting to games this season ahead of Monday’s home opener.
Pirates officials said fans should allow for additional travel time when coming to and leaving PNC Park.
The following PennDOT projects near Pittsburgh’s North Shore may impact travel:
• The Interstate 279 South (Parkway North) High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes will be open for the home opener on Monday, but will close April 2 and will remain closed through mid-June to prepare for the Parkway North improvements project;
• The Ninth Street Bridge closure;
• North Avenue bridge closure;
• West Ohio Street bridge closure;
• General Robinson lane reduction to Route 28.
Additionally, fans coming down Route 28 southbound from the Butler County line to the Pittsburgh Mills exit (Exit 12A) may experience delays as PennDOT finishes an improvement project in that area.
The Roberto Clemente Bridge will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. to allow for pedestrians to use the bridge.
All parking lots around the North Shore will open at 9 a.m. and no daily commuter parking will be permitted.
PNC Park opens at 11 a.m.
The Pirates will play the St. Louis Cardinals starting at 1:05 p.m.
