Two residents at St. Barnabas Nursing Home in Richland are in quarantine after testing positive for covid-19, a spokesman confirmed Sunday.

“They’re in a separate section of the building as well as separate rooms,” said Jim Lauteri, a spokesman with St. Barnabas Health System.

St. Barnabas has five assisted-living facilities in Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. No other residents at the nursing home, as well as any of the system’s other facilities, have tested positive for the virus, Lauteri said.

“This is the only incident that we have,” Lauteri said.

Lauteri said the health system is monitoring all of its residents and staff members and is following guidelines issued by health professionals, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Visitor access to its assisted-living and skilled-care facilities also have been restricted since March 12.
