A Catholic school in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze neighborhood was vandalized Sunday, according to an email sent to parents of the school.
Officials at St. Bede School declined comment about the incident, and Pittsburgh police didn’t immediately provide details.
A first-grade classroom and an art room were damaged and “inappropriate messages” were written on bulletin boards and walls throughout the school, according to an email the school sent to parents.
Pittsburgh police are investigating, according to the email.
It happened after Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes were held at the school on Sunday, according to the email.
“We are very fortunate that the damage is fixable,” the email said. The school is located on Edgerton Avenue, near South Dallas Avenue. It serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade, in addition to preschool.
