Visiting rabbi to address anti-Semitism at Pittsburgh lecture

Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin will give the 2020 Harris Interfaith Lecture at Rodef Shalom Congregation, 4905 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh.

Salkin’s lecture, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, is titled “Why Is It Always the Jews? An Interfaith Look at the History of Anti-Semitism.”

The annual event is free for clergy of all denominations. Admission for the luncheon and lecture is $25 for non-clergy.

Salkin is senior rabbi at Temple Solel in Hollywood, Fla., and scholar-in-residence this year at Rodef Shalom. He will make five appearances at the Pittsburgh synagogue over the course of the year.

Salkin’s visit on Jan. 10 begins a weekend of presentations, including a Shabbat dinner and discussion on the works of Bob Dylan and a “Lunch and Learn” on Saturday.
