Pittsburgh Public Schools announced Tuesday that a staff volunteer who had been ill has tested negative for covid-19.
The district alerted staff and families of a potential exposure to covid-19 over the weekend. A staff volunteer who had distributed laptops and instructional packets at Pittsburgh Milliones in the Hill District had fallen ill and was being tested for the disease.
The district updated families and staff Tuesday morning in another phone message. Out of an abundance of caution, the message said, the Milliones facility was cleaned.
“The district will continue to take the necessary steps to prevent the spread of covid-19 during food, laptop and instructional material distribution by requiring all staff and volunteers to wear masks and gloves,” the message said. “We strongly encourage any child or adult visiting a site to pick up food, laptops or instructional materials to wear protective gear.”
