Abby Lee Miller shares photo of fall from wheelchair at Pittsburgh airport
Reality star Abby Lee Miller is lauding the staff at Pittsburgh International Airport after she fell out of her wheelchair while traveling.
Miller talked about the incident this week in an Instagram post where she thanked the airport’s escorts and the “hot firemen” who helped her into her wheelchair.
”‘Help! I’ve fallen and I can’t get up’ isn’t that the truth?” she said. “Let’s just say my transfer from the Isle (sic) Chair to my own chair didn’t go so well!”
Miller was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer, and has undergone surgeries on her spine.
She went on to say the fall never should have happened in front of a “hundred people” waiting to board the plane. She said the switch typically takes place on the bridge.
“I shouldn’t have had to ask for someone to call the paramedics and maybe the @americanair Gate Mgr should’ve at the very least asked if I was ok?” Miller said. “Thank you to all the Pgh International Airport Escorts that were so very kind & the hot firemen who swiftly got me on my feet, into my chair & on my way!!!”
A request for comment from American Airlines wasn’t immediately returned.
Miller rose to fame as the star of “Dance Moms,” which was filmed at her dance studio in Penn Hills.
Miller spent time in prison and a halfway house for her July 2017 bankruptcy fraud sentence. She was released from the halfway house in May 2018 as her health issues worsened.
