Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto laments death of oldest brother
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto’s oldest brother died over the weekend.
Guy Peduto III, a resident of West Virginia who grew up in the South Hills, died of unspecified causes Saturday morning, Peduto announced on his Twitter account.
Peduto described Guy Peduto as not only his brother but also a good friend and mentor. His brother left behind a spouse, Donna.
“Guy & his wife Donna devoted their lives for the betterment of WV,” Mayor Peduto wrote in his tweet. “A kind & caring man, I miss him.”
According to the mayor, Guy Peduto was the last other surviving member of their “family of seven that grew up in a modified three-bedroom house” in Scott.
In February 2020, Bill and Guy Peduto’s mother died. Eva Maria (Zarroli) Peduto was 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Peduto Sr.
