A SWAT situation in Pittsburgh’s Larimer neighborhood ended without incident after a search of a home for a possibly armed and barricaded man, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Enright Court, according to an Allegheny County 911 emergency dispatcher.

Public Safety spokesman Chris Togneri said officers found a woman who told them she had been held against her will in a residence by a man she knew. The woman also said she had been assaulted multiple times.

The woman was able to escape through a window and seek help from a neighbor, Togneri said.

Paramedics took the woman to a local hospital in stable condition to be evaluated.

Togneri said police attempted to make contact with the man inside the home, but did not get a response. SWAT was called for a possibly armed and barricaded man inside the home.

SWAT officers searched the home, but did not locate the man, Togneri said. Police did not identify the man, nor did they provide a description of him.

Authorities asked people to avoid the area as they responded to the incident. Updates were provided via the city’s Public Safety Twitter account.

According to the account, Broad Street between East Liberty Boulevard and Station Street, and East Liberty Boulevard between Broad Street and Larimer Avenue were closed as police investigated. The roads remained temporarily closed following the conclusion of the incident.
