Some changes Pittsburgh Regional Transit had expected to implement have been delayed or scrapped altogether.
In a news release, the transit authority said it will not eliminate bus stops in front of Giant Eagle and Target at The Waterfront, a proposed change that had been met with public outcry. In the long term, the authority said it is working with The Waterfront to create a new stop between Giant Eagle and Target.
Other transit updates:
• The 54-North Side-Oakland-South Side will continue using the Herron Avenue Bridge following repairs.
• The 28X-Airport Flyer will serve the new airport terminal once it opens. On weekdays, buses will operate every 32 minutes until 10 p.m. and every 44 minutes from that time until the end of service. It will operate every 33 minutes on Saturdays and every 36 minutes on Sundays.
• Buses also will continue to be detoured through the Wabash Tunnel, with light-rail cars traveling through Allentown, until the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel reopens.
Rail calls will serve the stop at Allen Street, PRT said, and a free shuttle will take riders to Station Square until the tunnel reopens. The Silver Line will resume service between Library and Allegheny stations.
