Pittsburgh police on Tuesday arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting earlier this month of a man taking out the trash from a South Side convenience store.
Delvon Dobbins of Pittsburgh’s Morningside neighborhood was arrested and taken to jail.
Dobbins, who is being prosecuted as an adult, is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and two firearms counts.
Police were dispatched Feb. 3 around 10:30 p.m. to the Jag Dev convenience store in the 2100 block of East Carson Street for reports of a male shot.
Officers found the victim inside the store, shot in the chest.
The victim was shot at 22nd and East Carson streets but made his way back to the nearby store, police said. He was taken to the hospital.
After the shooting, Dobbins was seen by a surveillance camera belonging to Dive Bar, which is next door to the convenience store, according to a criminal complaint.
A witness who knew Dobbins identified him on the video, the complaint said.
