Pennsylvania State Police said they have charged a Pittsburgh driver after a 45-mile police chase on Thanksgiving Day.

Police said the chase began in Mercer County and ended in Wexford in Allegheny County.

Troopers said they attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation in the southbound lanes of Interstate 79 in Mercer County. The vehicle did not stop, they said, and instead led officers on a 45-mile high speed chase.

State police in Butler used stop sticks south of exit 99, but police said the driver hit them and continued driving on rims until exiting at Wexford and stopping.

Police charged alleged driver Britney Goodwine, 32, of Pittsburgh with multiple charges, including DUI and fleeing and eluding.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 7.
