More vendors, a different Christmas tree location and new Santa’s Shop are among the latest attractions planned for the fourth annual Christmas at Plum Creek.
The Grinch and other holiday characters are also expected to be in the borough for the tree lighting festival on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 4575 New Texas Road.
“I’m excited about the fact that it’s going to be even bigger and better this year,” Borough Manager Michael Thomas said. “ … We’ve got some new things, some new attractions and things for people to do, so we’re excited about it.”
Activities will be at and across from the borough building from 5:30-9 p.m.
There is limited handicapped parking at the event site.
Free shuttles from nearby Plum High School, St. John’s Church along Unity-Center Road and Amplify Church at O’Block and Saltsburg roads begin their trips at 5 p.m.
Santa is scheduled to arrive around 6 p.m.
Organizers moved the main 25-foot tree to the center of the park, and will have a smaller tree at the borough building.
Thomas said large crowds necessitated the change for the lighting ceremony, and both trees will be illuminated simultaneously.
Council chambers will transform into Santa’s Shop, where local vendors have holiday goods for sale.
Thomas said it’s a convenient location to pick up gifts near the shuttle areas.
Other activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, live reindeer, caroling, crafts, food trucks, games and more.
Any religious or charitable organization that wants to join the festivities can still sign up.

Sponsorships are still available for that event. Go to plumboro.com for more information.
