Concert in Plum to benefit two children with cancer

Gracie Gorman, the daughter of Maria and Preston Gorman of Irwin, is battling leukemia and one of the beneficiaries of the concert.

A North Huntingdon resident is organizing a benefit concert to raise money for two local children battling cancer.

Chris Guenzel, a 1984 Gateway High School graduate, will hold Conrad’s Concert VIII from 7 p.m. to midnight April 27 at Zander’s Sports Bar/Palmieris Restaurant, 951 Old Frankstown Road in Plum.

The funds raised will benefit the families of a 3-year-old girl, Gracie Gorman, from Irwin battling leukemia and a 13-year-old boy, Tony Cook, from McKeesport suffering from neurofibromatosis.

Guenzel has organized the event in memory of his brother, the late Conrad Guentzel, a Monroeville native who died of cancer in 2010 at age 44.

Knuckle Monster, an area rock band, and acoustic guitarist Michael Todd, will be joined by the music of Deejay Bill Ballas.

Tickets are $20 at the door and $15 at a gofundme.com fundraiser — called Conrad’s Concert8 — or by visiting knucklemonster.com.
