Democrats swept Republican challengers for four Oakmont Council seats.

Three of the seats are four-year terms; the other is a two-year term.

Former councilwoman Nancy Ride was the top vote-getter at 20.5% followed by newcomer Lindsay Osterhout at 19.4% and former councilwoman Sophia Facaros at 18%, according to unofficial returns from the Allegheny County Elections Division.

The defeated Republican newcomers are Andrew Zentgraf (15.4%), William Wengerd (13.7%) and Matthew Duran (12.8%).

Republican Randy Galm (46.4%), who was appointed to the board in March to replace former councilman Justin Lokay, lost his bid to serve the remaining two years of Lokay’s term to retired Oakmont officer David Brankley (53.6%).

The council members will be sworn in in January.
