A 10-foot tall mountain of glass - about 50 tons worth - waits to be hauled off to a recycling facility that will melt it down to recycle the material into new glass.

PA Resource Council’s traveling glass recycling bin will be parked by the Boyce Park soccer field along Pierson Run Road in Plum from Oct. 24 to 29.

Glass bottles, jars and jugs will be accepted.

Cut glass, glass bakeware, mirrors, porcelain and ceramics, stemware, light bulbs and TVs will not be accepted. The site is under video surveillance.

The recycling bin visit is sponsored by the borough, CAP Glass and Owens-Illinois.
