A drive-thru Toys for Tots collection event is set for 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8.
Students and staff of the Plum Borough School District and other volunteers will collect new, unwrapped toys in the Plum Senior High School bus lot, 900 Elicker Road.
The event is being held in collaboration with Rachel’s Challenge.

PALS to meet
Plum Area Ladies Society (PALS) will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at Plum Community Center at 499 Center-New Texas Road. Members are asked to bring a $15 wrapped gift for the gift exchange, and cookies for refreshments. Punch will be served.
For their service project, PALS are asked to donate gently used clothing to Operation Reindeer for residents of Torrance State Hospital, in men’s size XL, XXL and 1X or larger, women’s size L, XL or larger.
Needed items are sweatshirts, sweatpants, tops, T-shirts, pants, jeans, sweaters, pajamas, jackets, coats, outerwear, socks, mittens, gloves, hats, ear muffs and shoes. New underwear and sports bras in larger sizes are urgently needed.
Also wanted are CD players, CDs/DVDs, batteries (especially AA), radios, handheld games, headphones, wallets, watches, holiday jewelry, sports memorabilia (especially Pittsburgh teams), craft kits, puzzle books, activity books, writing paper, postage stamps, phone cards, gently-used luggage, and Walmart gift cards in $10-20 denominations. For their ongoing service project, members may also contribute paper products or cash or checks for the Food Pantry.
The Ladies Day Out event is a mystery dinner theater at the Lamplighter at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Members going to the dinner theater need to call the Lamplighter to reserve and pay for their place.
PALS is a service and social club open to women from Plum, Penn Hills, Verona, Oakmont, Monroevilleand surrounding communities.
Newcomers are always welcome at the monthly meeting, always held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, September through April at Plum Community Center. For information, call Mary Lou at 724 327-8265.

International Women host holiday program
The International Women Club will host its annual Festive Holiday Celebration Dec. 10 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road in Monroeville.
All women in the community are invited to attend.
The club meeting begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by celebration and Christmas carol singing led by club member Lorraine Balun.
