Plum Area Ladies Society
Plum Area Ladies Society will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at Plum Community Center, 499 Center New Texas Road.
The theme for the refreshments and Friendship Basket is “Fall Harvest.” The speaker, Eric Selinger, is presenting “Rock Talks: Actually, Disco Didn’t Suck.”
The service project is filling 150 Christmas stockings for Military Connections, to be sent to active servicemen all over the world. Suggestions for stocking stuffers include candy, crackers, cookies, pretzels, protein bars, beef jerky, Gatorade powdered envelopes and small batteries.
The Ladies Day Out event will be a friendship dinner at John Anthony’s on Nov. 16. Further details and signup will be available at the meeting.
PALS is a service/social group open to women from Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and surrounding communities. Newcomers are welcome at the monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month September through April.

Halloween tours
Halloween tours are scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Kerr Memorial Museum, 402 Delaware Ave., Oakmont. Tour the museum and learn how Halloween was celebrated in the Victorian Era.
Reservations are required. Cost is $35. Call 412-826-9295, and leave your name and telephone number.
Clover Commons craft show
The Clover Commons 55-plus community will host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Clover Commons Clubhouse, 600 Cloverview Circle, Plum.
Twenty vendors are participating. Lunch and drinks will be available for purchase, along with tickets for auction items.
Peace of Mind Workshop
Burket-Truby Funeral Home will host a Peace of Mind Workshop at 10 a.m. Nov. 9, open to anyone who is interested.
Topics include five steps to funeral planning, estate planning, preplanning and prefunding, and emotional and financial benefits of planning funerals in advance.
