The Monroeville Sting Fast Pitch Tournament Team recently held a car wash to raise money for the families of the Rustic Ridge neighborhood in Plum.

Head Coach Pete Griffith reported that the team raised almost $650.

“It’s important to all of our coaches that we teach our team the importance of working together, both on and off the field,” he said. “We wanted our girls to have a hands-on experience in giving back to those in need. At this time, the need is for our Plum neighbors, and we couldn’t be prouder of our girls and the hard work and team effort they displayed today.”

An Aug. 12 explosion in Rustic Ridge claimed six lives.
