An upcoming Oakmont Council meeting, at which council will consider an ordinance allowing bicycling and off-leash dogs in Dark Hollow Woods, will be live-streamed and have limited seating.
Seating at council chambers Monday night will be limited to only 13 members of the public on a first-come, first-served basis as the borough adheres to state Department of Health limitations on indoor gatherings, Borough Manager Scot Fodi announced Friday.
Regulations limit indoor gatherings to 25 people, which in this case would include the seven council members, borough manger, solicitor, mayor, police chief and possible stenographer for a public hearing prior to ordinance adoption.
Face masks will be required, and no one will be permitted to stand inside the building.
The meeting will be broadcast live on Oakmont’s YouTube channel.
A trial period for the activities in the park near Crystal Drive has gone on for more than a year. The park was split into two sections in June 2019.
The current borough policy prohibits bikes in the park and dogs from roaming free.
More permanent signs would be installed should the borough adopt a change for Dark Hollow.
Residents who want to make comments can do so via letter or email to the borough.
Fodi said the correspondence will be read verbatim by staff. Submissions must include the name and address of the author.
People can also request a Zoom meeting invitation. Invitees will be emailed the meeting link Monday.
Comments will be limited to three minutes.
