Plum area coronavirus numbers continue upward trend

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the Plum area’s numbers remain among the highest in the eastern suburbs.

As of Dec. 16, there have been 1,032 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Plum since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. A total of 13 deaths have been reported. Those numbers include an increase of 204 cases and five deaths in just the past week.

A total of 5,727 tests have been administered to Plum residents. Plum’s case rate is 380 per 10,000 residents, or 3.8%.

Since the pandemic began, Oakmont has had 321 cases. No deaths have been reported, and 3,021 Oakmont residents have had tests administered.
