Plum High School was one of nearly a dozen school districts that participated in this year’s Alle-Kiski Valley Marching Band Festival.

The 73rd annual event took place Sept. 18 at Highlands School District’s Golden Rams Stadium.

Plum’s performance included hits from the iconic rock band Queen such as “Bicycle Race,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Plum was one of the larger groups in the festival.

The band is under the direction of Bethany Loy with assistant directors Michael Buckstein and Meaghan Masyako.

Student leaders include drum majors Shawn Gibson and Melanie Schultz, majorette captains Lizzie Goodlin, Gianna Marasco and Leah Rim, dance team captains Kelsey Baranowski and Allyson Harrison, and color guard captains Cameron Corrigan, Cara Gettings, Priscilla Jones and Alyssa Slane.
