‘Fiddler on the Roof’ at Plum

Plum High School’s spring musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 30-31 and April 1 at the school, 900 Elicker Road.

Eggstravaganza set

Plum’s annual drive-thru Eggstravaganza is set for 9-11:30 a.m. April 8 at the public works building, 2001 Old Mine Road.

The free event is open to borough residents only and limited to the first 600 children who register.

Ladies society meets

Plum Area Ladies Society will hold its final meeting of the season at 6:30 p.m. April 5 at Plum Community Center, 499 Center New Texas Road. There will be no speaker.

Elections will be held for all offices. Donations of paper products and cash will be collected for Plum Food Pantry.

Payment of $25 for the annual banquet will be collected at the meeting. The banquet is scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. May 13 at Jaden’s II, 4733 William Penn Highway, Monroeville. The April meeting will be the final date to turn in pictures for the banquet’s theme, “Celebrating Mothers.”

The final Ladies Day Out will be a flower planting and wine and food sampling at 2 p.m. April 22 at Bygone Wines in Plum. Call 412 744-4613 to reserve a space. The $35 charge will include flowers and a tin, plus instructions on planting.

Plum Area Ladies Society is a service/social club open to women from Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and surrounding communities. Newcomers are always welcome at monthly meetings, held on the first Wednesday on the month, September through April. For more information, call Mary Lou at 724 327-8265.

Chess offered in Oakmont

Oakmont Carnegie Library’s chess program with the University of Pittsburgh’s Adam Williams is set for 3:30-5 p.m. April 3 at the library, 700 Allegheny River Blvd.

It is designed for players ages 8-19. Chess boards will be provided or players can bring their own.

Oakmont Elks fish fry

The Oakmont Elks Lenten fish fry runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on Fridays through April 7. Only takeout is available.

Featured are jumbo beer-battered cod with Mancini’s rolls, baked cod loins or breaded shrimp dinners, including french fries and coleslaw, for $15. Homemade haluski, macaroni and cheese, and fish sandwiches are available a la carte.
