Egg hunt in Verona
Verona Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg hunt is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 8 at Railroad Park, 737 E Railroad Ave.
Balloon artist Ray Lucas will be featured.
Eggstravaganza in Plum
Plum’s annual drive-thru Eggstravaganza is set for 9-11:30 a.m. April 8 at the public works building, 2001 Old Mine Road.
The free event is open to borough residents only and limited to the first 600 children who register. More information is available under the “BOROHaps” tab of the borough website, plumboro.com.
Plum AARP meets
Plum AARP will meet at noon April 11 at Unity Community Church, 215 Unity Trestle Road.
The program will be a fundraiser, Sweet Bingo, with sweet treats as prizes. Members will be able to purchase tickets for the May Luncheon, a buffet at Palmieri’s on May 9, for $28.
Plum AARP is a social club open to residents of Plum, Penn Hills, Monroeville and surrounding communities. Each meeting features free cake and coffee and a speaker, program or entertainment, as well as the opportunity to make new friends. Newcomers are welcome at monthly meetings, held at Unity Community Church on the second Tuesday of each month except July.

Season finale for PALS
Plum Area Ladies Society will hold its final meeting of the season at 6:30 p.m. April 5 at the Plum Community Center, 499 Center New Texas Road.
There is no speaker. Elections will be held for all offices. Donations of paper products and cash will be collected for Plum Food Pantry.
Payment of $25 for the annual banquet will be collected at the meeting. The banquet will be held at Jaden’s II in Monroeville from 2 to 6 p.m. May 13. The April meeting will be the final date to turn in pictures for the theme, “Celebrating Mothers.”
The final Ladies Day Out will be a flower planting and wine and food sampling at 2 p.m. April 22 at Bygone Wines in Plum. Call 412 744-4613 to reserve a space. The $35 charge will include flowers and a tin, plus instructions on planting.

Elks fish fry wraps up
The Oakmont Elks Lenten fish fry wraps up for the year from 3 to 7 p.m. April 7. Only takeout is available.
Phone orders begin strictly at noon by calling 412-828-1668 or 412-508-5966. Pickup is at 106 Washington Ave. in Oakmont.
Summer storytime scheduled
Verona Community Garden, in partnership with Oakmont Carnegie Library, is offering summer storytime from 11:30 a.m. to noon weekly on Wednesdays from June 7 through July 26 at 246 W. Railroad Ave.

Oakmont library events set
• Oakmont Carnegie Library will host a meditation program with monks from the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center from 6 to 7 p.m. April 11 at 700 Allegheny River Blvd.
The program is free and will be live streamed on the PBC YouTube channel.
• The library offers Book Buddies Storytime for ages 3 to 5 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. April 12.
The free program for children and their parents or caregivers is scheduled for every Wednesday morning. It features stories and a themed craft bag to take home each session.
• The library hosts the Allegheny Valley Poets from 1 to 3 p.m. April 15 as part of National Poetry Month.
Participants can choose their favorite poem to read and hear other poems. Special guests Arthur Erbe and Chuck Erdeljac will be the hosts.

Plum library events planned
Plum Community Library hosts Cook in a Book! Storytime, a story program about cooking and food for children ages 2 and older, from 1 to 2 p.m. April 10 at 445 Center- New Texas Road.
Registration is required.
• Step into Space is scheduled for 1 to 7 p.m. April 12. The all-ages program is to celebrate International Day of Human Space Flight at the library.
There will be space-themed snacks and supplies available to make a personalized space rocket and some intergalactic art. Registration is recommended.
• Hooks & Books, a crochet or knitting program, is set for 6 to 8 p.m. April 13.
Participants can bring something they are working on or help make lap blankets for charity. No registration is required.
