Promotions and giveaways drew large crowds to the new Sheetz store that opened in Plum on Wednesday, May 1.

The convenience store is on Golden Mile Highway at Presque Isle Drive, where a Kings restaurant was torn down after closing in September 2022. Part of the adjacent Presque Isle Plaza also was torn down to make way for the new Sheetz.

The previously existing Sheetz, located about a mile away on Golden Mile Highway at Pine Valley Drive and open since December 1991, has closed. It is available for lease from Oxford Realty Services.

The opening featured a ribbon cutting and drawings for prizes.

Sheetz had seven more store grand openings scheduled from May 2 through May 14. They were in Statesville, N.C.; Bethlehem; Columbus, Ohio; Massillon, Ohio; Morganton, N.C.; Gainesville, Va.; and Winchester, Ohio.
