Allegheny County homicide detectives are investigating an early morning shooting in Wilkinsburg that sent one person to the hospital, officials said.
County dispatchers were alerted of a shooting in the area of Chalfant Street and Collins Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Responding officers found a 21-year-old man who was shot, according to a release from Allegheny County Police. The unidentified man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
