A Carrick store was robbed at gunpoint early Monday, authorities said.

Pittsburgh police are investigating after a clerk said a masked robber accosted a customer and jumped behind the counter to demand money at a store in the 1900 block of Brownsville Road.

The incident happened just before 3 a.m.

No injuries were reported, Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

According to the clerk, a man wearing a full ski mask and gloves brandished a gun and demanded the safe be opened, Cruz said.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and a bank bag.

The investigation is ongoing.
