Pittsburgh police on Tuesday charged a Hill District couple who they said had hard drugs alongside medical supplies used by at least one of their twin 3-year-old boys.
Lorenzo Stanley, 42, and Aniya Macon, 23, the children’s legal guardian, were arrested in the 500 block of Crawford Street.
After monitoring suspected drug deals at Stanley’s home, police searched the residence and found heroin, ecstasy and crack cocaine along with drug paraphernalia in the kitchen, according to a criminal complaint.
Albuterol, a medication to treat breathing problems such as asthma, was found next to three “bricks” of heroin, crack cocaine, a knife, and a clear jar coated with white residue, which later tested positive for cocaine, the complaint said.
A plastic tube and mouthpiece on a nebulizer for the children were on a shelf next to two digital scales with white residue, numerous individually wrapped plastic bags of crack cocaine, a bag containing crystal methamphetamine, and an open plastic bag containing numerous ecstasy pills, the complaint said.
Stanley was charged with three counts of drug possession and two counts each of endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of drugs with intent to deliver.
Macon was charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.
Both were taken to the Allegheny County Jail. Bail was set for Stanley at $50,000. Macon’s was set at $10,000. Court records show that she posted bond.
