A man remained in jail Tuesday on charges that he forced his way into a 93-year-old woman’s North Side home over the weekend and raped her.

Authorities said Ronny Hough, 39, followed the woman on a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus from Downtown to the city’s Troy Hill neighborhood about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Hough “made his way into her home without her consent,” according to a criminal complaint in the case. Once inside, police said, he refused to allow the woman to leave.

Hough punched the victim, pulled her hair and caused her arms to bruise and bleed, the complaint said. He then threw the woman to the ground and raped her, according to the complaint.

The woman told police she did not know Hough, the complaint said.

Hough fell asleep, and the woman called 911, police said.

Police took Hough into custody. The complaint said Hough admitted to following the woman and then punching and having sex with her.

He was charged with rape and sexual assault, burglary, aggravated assault, trespassing and other crimes.

A district judge Sunday denied bail and sent Hough to the Allegheny County Jail, saying he is a danger to the community.

Online court records did not show an attorney for Hough, who did not have an address listed on the criminal complaint.

Hough had to register with the state as a sex offender in 2020, according to online records.

An Allegheny County jury found Hough guilty of indecent assault in 2020, court records show. A Common Pleas Court judge sentenced him to 11 1/2 to 23 months incarceration.
