One person is in critical condition after a shooting in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood early Saturday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and 911 calls for shots fired in the 1200 block of Bingham Street in South Side Flats shortly before 2 a.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz. Responding officers said they found a man with gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.

The man, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital.

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
