A Penn Hills man wanted in connection with a double shooting in May escaped from officers trying to take him into custody Friday morning, authorities said.

Taelaun Claybourne, 21, is charged with two counts of attempted homicide in the May 29 shooting at the Hays Manor Housing Community in McKees Rocks.

The gunfire left one a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg and a man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, police said at the time.

Police filed charges in late June and intended to take Claybourne into custody Friday, authorities said. He took off as officers tried to arrest him on Broadway Avenue in McKees Rocks.

Claybourne was last seen wearing dark-colored pants and no shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
